Frequently asked questions
Your first class
Do I need to book a class?
No. There’s no pre-booking at CFPY. Check the schedule, show up, and check in at the front desk.
I’m not flexible or fit. Can I still start?
Yes. Start with Saturday’s Beginners Class (90–95°F) or any all-levels class. Teachers give options for every pose, and you can rest in child’s pose whenever you need to.
What does it cost to try?
New students get 30 days of unlimited classes for $75, starting on your first visit.
When should I arrive?
About 15 minutes early for your first class. Classes start on time and the lobby door is locked during class for safety.
What should I wear and bring?
Light, moisture-wicking clothes such as leggings or shorts with a tank or sports bra. You practice barefoot. Bring a mat, a large towel and water. Mats rent for $3, towels for $7, and bottled water is for sale.
Should I eat before hot yoga?
Skip big meals within two to three hours of class. A light snack an hour before is fine. Drink water throughout the day.
How often should beginners practice?
Two or three times a week is a good start. The $75 intro month gives you unlimited classes for 30 days so you can find your rhythm.
Hot yoga and the heat
What is hot power yoga?
A flowing vinyasa practice in a heated room that builds strength, balance and flexibility. At CFPY in Winter Garden, Hot Power Vinyasa is taught in an infrared-heated room at 98–105°F, with options for every level.
How is hot yoga different from regular yoga?
The heat. Warm muscles often feel easier to move, and you sweat more. The poses and breathwork are the same, and CFPY also has unheated Flow Yoga and Yoga Nidra.
How hot is the room?
Hot classes are heated to 98–105°F with infrared heat. The Beginners Class runs cooler at 90–95°F, and Flow Yoga and Yoga Nidra are not heated.
What are the benefits of hot yoga?
With regular practice: more strength, core stability, flexibility and balance, plus a calmer mind from the breathwork. Choose Power Vinyasa or Power 45 to work hard, or Candlelight Yin and Yoga Nidra to slow down.
Is hot yoga safe if I’m pregnant or have a health condition?
Check with your doctor first. Heat isn’t right for everyone. Flow Yoga and Yoga Nidra are unheated alternatives.
Our classes
What’s the difference between Power Vinyasa and Yin?
Power Vinyasa is active and flowing. Yin is slow, with poses held 3–5 minutes for deep stretching and relaxation.
What is Hot Pilates (Yogilates)?
Pilates core and strength work mixed with yoga movement in the heated room. It’s more conditioning and less flow than Hot Yoga.
What is yoga with weights?
Hot Power Vinyasa with light weights added for extra strength and endurance work.
What is Yoga Nidra?
Guided “yogic sleep” meditation done lying down. It needs no experience or flexibility, and it isn’t heated.
Can I book a private session or a group event?
Yes. Private one-on-one or group sessions, birthdays and bachelorette parties can be arranged. Text (407) 719-6030.
